Fees & compensation

Know how the service is paid for.

Compensation depends on the mortgage and lender. If a fee may apply to your situation, I’ll explain it before you decide to proceed.

Clear information, up front

Understand costs before choosing a mortgage.

Broker compensation varies by lender and mortgage. In some cases, a lender pays the brokerage; in others, a fee may apply. If a fee could apply to your situation, I’ll explain it and the relevant terms before you choose how to proceed.

You’ll receive required written disclosures about expected remuneration and other relevant costs at the appropriate stage. Ask me to explain any amount, condition, or term you would like clarified.

Actual compensation and costs depend on the transaction and should be confirmed in writing for your mortgage.

Questions you can ask

  • Will I pay a fee directly, or is the brokerage compensated by a lender?
  • What costs could apply to this mortgage?
  • When will I receive the written disclosure?
  • Could there be a penalty or cost to change my current mortgage?
